Chocolate Coconut Frosting RecipeDianne Linderman shares a scrumptious recipe for an easy-to-make chocolate frosting that uses coconut oil as its base. You can play around with different types of sweetener (such as honey, agave syrup, and the like) to get a one-of-a-kind frosting that you love!

With just five ingredients, you can quickly whip up this frosting and make it as thick or runny as you want – listen to this episode to hear Dianne’s secret to thickening a runny frosting and vice versa.

Here is what you’ll need:

♨ 1/4 cup Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
♨ 16 oz Powdered Sugar, or Powdered Maple Sugar
♨ 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
♨ 1 tsp pure Vanilla Extract
♨ 1/4 cup Cream (added 1-2 tbsp at a time)

Sunflower Cookies RecipeDianne found this vintage recipe for sunflower cookies, and substituted a few ingredients to make them healthier for you. Now, this is what we call a modern twist on a vintage recipe! As Dianne says, you could turn these into nutritious “nature bars,” but we are going to stick with cookies this time.

A few simple ingredients that are commonly found in your kitchen (flour, baking soda, vanilla and the like) meet the not-so-often used ingredients such as sunflower oil, sunflower seeds (shelled!), maple sugar and shredded coconut. The result are some of the most delicious cookies you will ever have. Try ’em!

Here is what you’ll need:

♨ 2 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
♨ 1 tsp Baking Soda
♨ 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
♨ 1/4 tsp Salt
♨ 1 cup Sunflower Oil or Butter, softened (you could also use Coconut Oil)
♨ 1 cup Maple Sugar
♨ 2 cup packed Brown Sugar
♨ 2 large Eggs
♨ 1 tsp Vanilla
♨ 2 1/2 cups Quick-Cooking Oats
♨ 1 cup sweetened Shredded Coconut
♨ 1 cup shelled Sunflower Seeds
